March club cards

I am beginning to wonder if I will get caught up!  BUT --- I am determined.  Here are 2 of the cards we made for the hostess club in March.

This first card was inspired by an announcement from a co-worker that not only was she pregnant - but that she was having TWINS!  So, hence the 2 adorable monkeys!  The set is the now retired set Fox and Friends.  The colors are Pool Party and Basic Black with a splash of Sahara Sand.

This card was a great reminder to re-purpose your punches.  We used the stamp set Mixed bunch and punched the flower which after we trimmed it, became a butterfly.  The DSP is the new Twitterpated.  The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Gifts for hire

So, most of you know that I have another business that trickles out of my Stampin' Up! demonstratorship.  I make favors and gifts for any special occasion; weddings, birthdays, showers, and the like.  My daughter -in-law and I work on some parts together.

I made about 3 projects  for a local PTO for their75 teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week gifts.

AntiBac holders - simple and can be customized for any occasion.  These are fun to make.  all the stamps are retired, and the colors are Concorde Crush (retired), Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive.

These are water bottle hangers.  You can put whatever drink pouch you want.  The pouch is simple as well.  I will post a tutorial for those later next week.

Baby cards

I took a day or so and stamped up some baby cards in April.  Here are the ones I did.
These two were done with the same set and the same idea - just turned the card!  Interesting how different yet the same they look!  The stamp set is Baby Prints.  It was introduced in the Mini Catalog, and made it to the Idea Book and Catalog.  I am a real sucker for a simple card and especially a clean looking card - Whisper White is a great base for simplicity and then to add just ONE color is strikingly simple.  The additional colors I used were: for the boy card - Marina Mist and the girl card was Blushing Bride.

I noticed with these cards that I really love my Big Shot and Impressions Folders!  This last card is no exception.  I used the Striped folder in a couple of different ways.  First I just ran the base Whisper White layer through one time.  For the smaller square of plaid, I used a couple of techniques.  I brayered the folder first with Marina Mist (a great baby and a great boy blue), then ran the Whisper White through one way, I re inked the folder again and rotated the CS 90 degrees and ran the folder through again - VOILA!  Plaid embossed CS.  I also used the Designer Frames and the Ovals die to create the focus point of the card.

Spring project- wedding and bridal cards

Dawnmarie and I were planning Michelle's bridal shower and of course we needed INVITATIONS!  so I took an afternoon and created some bridal/wedding cards.  Unfortunately, all the stamps are retired now... but I love the Bridal Bliss set!  The other unique part of these cards - the first two are actually HYBRID cards - meaning, parts are from MDS and printed to be used as part of the card.  The sentiment was done on my computer and printed to be put on the card.

More wedding prep!

This post is about the INVITATIONS!  So, obviously, I was to make the invitations for Michelle's wedding.  Well, I came up with several ideas and samples for Ryan and Michelle to choose from.  She choose the colors Pool Party and Pacific Point -*luscious together!

This was one of the assembly/creating days.  We were heat embossing on the outside using the Baroque Motifs set. It ended up that everyone in the family helped put these babies together -

And the finished card (weeks later of course!)

February and March in a nutshell

The end of February was a whirlwind - a word I came to understand in more personal ways than ever before.  On the 23rd, Michelle, Dawnmarie, Cali and I drove to Mesa area to go dress shopping for Michelle's wedding dress.  This was a fast, frenzied day and I do believe Michelle tried on about 27 dresses or so before finding THE DRESS.  While I can't post that yet (well, I could because the wedding has happened) I want to take you through the evolution of that dress later.  BUT, here are a few photos of that day none-the-less.
The day began here - and she tried on MANY dresses here - maybe 18 or so?  There was OUR favorite, but obviously Michelle wasn't convinced.

Then off to the second store - not quite as memorable - they were less than helpful.  I guess we interrupted her lunch and she was a bit bothered by that.  Michelle managed to try on about 6 dresses here too - this flowery one was for Cali - to change it up a bit - SUPER heavy!  The other one was too frumpy for the princess bride!

Then off to the last store on a whim - Suzanne's Bridal.  There were a few dresses there she liked, but this one made her look about 40 - so it was a NO!  BUT - this is the shop where we found "THE" dress.  Michelle and I both knew it when we saw it - tears streamed down my face.  And she got teary too!  That was the reaction she was looking for.  She was just about to settle for OUR favorite on her, when she saw it.  Needless to say -the day was a success!
Now for the stamp projects to share with you!  Afterall, this is my CREATION blog -

Super quick candy bar wrappers for Valentines. These always make good, quick gifts - I love to make them in all shapes and sizes - The CS is cut to 6" square (check your candy bar first though).  then wrapped around and decorated simply however you like.  Here is another one that is NOT Valentine themed -

Catching up -

As my best friend Sara pointed out - it has been FAR too long since I posted anything creative here on my CREATIONS blog!  So, I am going to repent and get back to posting.  I am going to put it out there that I am going to post daily - but we'll see how long I can go with that goal.

I will give the disclaimer that explains in part, my absence.  I will address each of these later on in more detail, but just suffice it to say that I had my son return from his 2 year mission and my daughter get married all within 10 days~!  More on those events later.

On to the business at hand - catching you up!  I will start where I know I can.  I ended last with Valentine's Day - our 2 week celebration.  It was wonderful - and many sweet things happened that month.  February I got a bit creative for work and made them a small Valentine.  I found this idea on many demo blogs so I don't know who to credit with the idea- but it was awesome!

It used the Holiday Mini stamp set - P.S. I Love You.  Real Red CS and DSP finish this one out.  SUPER simple.  I cut the CS to 6 1/2" x 2 1/4".  Then I scored it at 2 1/2" and 4".  The DSP was cut to 2 1/4" x 2".

You could create many of these for lots of occasions.
